Welcome to my UNEportfolio,

My name is Rachel and I am an undergraduate dental hygiene/pre-dental student at the University of New England. A little about me, I come from a small town in Massachusetts. There, I played on the field hockey team, ran on the indoor and outdoor track and field team, and even played first chair clarinet. I am really into running and working out, despite how much pain they can cause at times. Back home also stays my loving family, friends, and my bratty cat, Toby. Today, I am a full time college student working as hard as I can to prove that I have what it takes to get into dental school. I take my academic work very seriously and strive for above average grades. On top of grades, I work towards being involved in a community. For example, I enjoy participating in clubs, especially sports such as track and field hockey which have helped to make me feel more comfortable in a new environment. Being apart of different organizations has been important to me since the beginning of high school because they’ve helped to open me up in ways I did not. I never imagined I would choose UNE mostly because it was the farthest college option I chose. Now that I am comfortable with being away from home, I have even decided to take the next step and spend a semester abroad in Morocco during the fall of 2019. As the days have passed by, I am grateful for the choice I made to attend this university because it has offered so many options and advice as to how I can become the best dental hygienist/dentist I can be. With this in mind, I am very excited as to what the future has to offer for me, especially as a student here at UNE.
